CMH Grow Lights Resin Content

CMH Grow Lights Resin Content

CMH grow lights resin content is often higher in plants versus other types of grow lighting, adding value and enjoyment to the flowers and trimmed leaves harvested. Many types of crops are cultivated and harvested for their essential oil content, both directly and indirectly.

For example, culinary herbs are added to recipes for flavours and aromas.  Fact is, the flavours and aromas don’t come from the leaves themselves; there are essential oils often coating the surface of the leaves or flowering structures that are delivering the desired tastes and effects.

There are tiny hair like structures on plant leaves and most often occurring in abundance on smaller flowering structures. These structures are called Trichomes.  The trichomes are like little forest of trees growing from the surface of the plant foliage.  As plants develop, oils are secreted through the trichomes and rest as a cap on top of the hair like stalks, like a little resin mushroom.

Naturally, healthy plants with more trichome structures or a higher rate of trichome activity can produce more essential oil—delivering more of the “goods” we seek from our particular type of crop.

CMH grow lights resin content is often higher than plants grown under HPS light sources only, a fact many expert growers have come to realize.  Due to improved CMH grow lights resin content, many existing HPS (high pressure sodium) grow light set ups are receiving additions of CMH grow lights by savvy growers for this very reason.

Of further benefit to growers who modify their existing HPS grow light set ups for improved CMH resin content is the fact that they can run their HPS lamps on a lowered wattage output, for example switch to 750 watts from 1000 watts because they know have improved spectrum and intensity in the grow room with additions of high quality CMH grow lights like Summit Lighting SUM 315.

Running the HPS lamps at the lowered wattage saves on cooling and power requirements while adding a slight red color shift to most HPS lamps—which is where they tend to work best anyways. NOTE: red light does not carry as much energy as blue light, but with the additions of CMH grow lights the overall garden performance is improved.

How is CMH Grow Lights Resin Content Improved?

CMH grow lights resin content is improved in crops because of the highly photosynthetic light wavelengths delivered by CMH lamps.  There are major differences in color rendering offered by CMH grow lamps versus HPS grow lamps that can be easily seen with the human eye (wear sunglasses around grow lamps, always).

There are also major and important differences that can’t (and shouldn’t be) seen with the human eye, and those have a lot to do with the small and beneficial amounts of Ultra Violet light wavelengths that only CMH (ceramic metal halide) lighting can deliver in quantities that are usable by plants.

Healthy and moderate UV wavelengths stimulate resin production in plants—it’s like a natural sunscreen for many types of crops, and all types of resin producing plants respond favourably in terms of CMG grow lights resin content.

With increased photosynthetic activity and stimulation for increased resin production, CMH grow lights resin content is noticeably higher versus plants grown with HPS lighting only.

Mission Statement

Our goal at Summit Lighting, Inc is to continue to bring the most innovative products to market that allow the professional agriculture community to produce higher yields while consuming less energy and using fewer nutrients and additives.

We do this by constantly trying to create an environment that is closest to what the sun produces naturally. This approach reduces the amount of stress placed on the plants and allows them a chance to grow as natural as possible in an artificial environment.
